AFP Stainless Steel Sheet Types
By coating material, anti fingerprint stainless steel sheets fall into two types: nano-ceramic AFP and acrylic AFP. The two differ mainly in surface hardness, abrasion resistance, and the range of colours each can carry.
Nano-Ceramic AFP
Nano-ceramic AFP coating is the harder of the two, reaching around 6H pencil hardness with strong abrasion and corrosion resistance. It holds a mirror or high-touch surface clear under heavy daily contact and performs close to a titanium-coated panel, though its colour options are more limited.
Acrylic AFP
Acrylic AFP coating is a softer clear lacquer at roughly 2H pencil hardness, and it's the more economical option. The acrylic system carries a wider colour range and performs well on brushed, satin, and No.4 finishes used across appliance panels and general commercial interiors.

AFP Coating Technology
AFP coating technology is the process of applying an anti fingerprint coating for stainless steel: a transparent, low-surface-energy layer that stops oils and water from gripping the metal. Two clear-coat chemistries are used: an oil-repelling acrylic lacquer and a harder nano-ceramic formulation. Both are roll-applied and oven-cured, which cross-links the resin into a firm yet flexible film that bends and folds without cracking. The coat is colourless, so a brushed or mirror sheet keeps its exact finish. Adhesion and durability are verified by cross-hatch testing to ASTM D3359 and salt-spray testing to ASTM B117. Beyond fingerprint resistance, the cured layer also raises surface hardness and adds a barrier against corrosion in humid and coastal conditions.
