Stainless steel PVD sheets are decorative steel sheets coated with a thin metallic colour film through Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) inside a vacuum chamber using cathodic arc technology. The process vaporises a target material (typically titanium) and reacts it with nitrogen or carbon gases to form compounds such as titanium nitride (TiN) for gold tones, zirconium nitride (ZrN) for champagne, and titanium carbonitride (TiCN) for rose gold PVD and warmer hues. The resulting film bonds at the atomic level to the stainless steel substrate. Unlike electroplating or painting, PVD won't peel, flake, or fade and produces zero liquid or gaseous discharge.
PVD-coated stainless steel sheets carry a coating thickness of 0.1 to 0.3 microns, applied over a base sheet thickness from 0.3 mm to 3.0 mm. Standard sheet size is 1219 x 2438 mm (4 x 8 ft), with custom sizes on request. Mirror (8K), hairline, vibration, satin, bead blast, etched, and embossed base finishes are all available with PVD colour coating in gold, rose gold, black, bronze, champagne, blue, coffee, copper, silver, and rainbow, plus optional anti-fingerprint treatment.
Stainlessinox LLP manufactures and supplies stainless steel PVD sheets from our production facility in Khopoli, near Mumbai, with our main office in Lower Parel, Mumbai. With over 30 years in the stainless steel industry and ISO certification, we stock one of India's largest decorative stainless steel sheet inventories and supply architects, interior designers, elevator manufacturers, hospitality developers, retail fit-out contractors, luxury furniture makers, and shopfitting and signage fabricators pan-India for facade cladding, lift interiors, hotel lobbies, furniture, and signage projects.

Stainlessinox LLP offers PVD colour-coated stainless steel sheets in many standard colours, including gold, rose gold, black, bronze, champagne gold, blue, coffee, copper, silver, and rainbow. Custom colours are available on request for orders above the minimum quantity.
Every colour is produced by a specific coating compound deposited during the PVD process. Titanium nitride (TiN) produces gold and champagne tones. Titanium carbonitride (TiCN) creates rose gold and darker, warmer shades. Zirconium nitride (ZrN) produces a gold-like tone, while champagne shades are achieved by adjusting coating thickness and process parameters. Black PVD finishes use titanium, aluminium, carbonitride or chromium-based compounds. These aren't pigments or dyes; the colour originates from the optical properties of the deposited thin film and how it interacts with light.
Gold and rose gold stainless steel sheets are the most specified colours for hotel lobbies and elevator interiors. Black stainless steel sheets and bronze stainless steel sheets suit commercial facades and retail shopfitting.
The base finish is applied to the stainless steel sheet before PVD coating. It controls how light reflects off the final coloured surface.
Anti-fingerprint stainless steel sheets with AFP nano-coating are available across all base finishes. The transparent layer repels oils and water, keeping the PVD surface free of smudge marks.
PVD-coated stainless steel sheets are used across architectural cladding, elevator interiors, hotel and restaurant decoration, and furniture fabrication. Coloured stainless steel sheets bring durable, fade-resistant metallic finishes to commercial and residential projects.

Common questions about stainless steel PVD sheets answered by our technical team.
A PVD sheet is a stainless steel sheet coated with a thin metallic film through Physical Vapour Deposition. The process takes place inside a vacuum chamber where a target material (typically titanium) is vaporised and reacted with nitrogen or carbon gases to create compounds such as titanium nitride (TiN). The resulting film produces durable decorative colours, including gold, rose gold, black, bronze, and champagne on the stainless steel surface. PVD sheets are also referred to as titanium-coated stainless steel sheets or vacuum-coated stainless steel sheets.
The PVD coating layer on stainless steel sheets is typically 0.1 to 0.3 microns thick. The base sheet itself ranges from 0.3 mm to 3.0 mm. Despite being extremely thin, the PVD film is harder than conventional electroplated finishes because it bonds to the substrate at the atomic level. Coating thickness within this range is controlled by adjusting deposition time and process parameters in the vacuum chamber.
PVD coating on stainless steel sheets lasts 10 to 15+ years for indoor applications without colour fading, delamination, or tarnishing. Outdoor lifespan varies with the base material, coating thickness, and environmental exposure. Higher chloride-resistant PVD sheets with 0.3 micron coating thickness perform best in exterior and coastal settings. The coating won't peel, flake, or fade in normal use conditions.
Stainlessinox LLP stocks PVD sheets in 10 standard colours: gold, rose gold, black, bronze, champagne gold, blue, coffee, copper, silver, and rainbow. Each colour corresponds to a specific coating compound deposited during the PVD process. TiN produces gold tones, ZrN creates champagne shades, and TiCN generates warm rose gold and darker hues. Custom colours are available on request.
Yes. The thin PVD layer (0.1 to 0.3 microns) can be used for bending, folding, or welding operations. Fabricators can form the sheet after coating without damaging the colour film. Low-carbon variants are preferred for welded assemblies as they reduce the risk of intergranular corrosion at weld zones.
